16. When will I get my lab results?
Routine labs generally take about 3-4 business days to return. Less
common labs may need to be sent to a special location and may take weeks to process. All patients will receive
results for any lab or test ordered by our practitioners. If possible, we will put your information on our Dial
tell system, this is an automated system. When you are at your visit the nurse will give you a card with a toll-free
number on it and you access your labs and X-rays by entering your social security number and a special code (number)
that is on the card that you will receive at your visit. If you don't get a Dial tell card at your visit then
we will mail the lab and x-ray results directly to you. We do not have results for tests ordered by specialists.
(One exception is "normal" results of Mammograms done at Fauquier Hospital. These will be sent to you
directly from the hospital.)
Please allow 2 weeks to receive lab and x-ray results. Please allow four weeks to receive Pap smear results. Call
our office if you have not received your results by this time. If we process a lab test by request of a specialist,
we will forward the results to that specialist's office. Please call them for the results.
