Dr. Ash B. Diwan grew up in the Northern Virginia area where he attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Alexandria, Virginia. He did his undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond where he received a Masters in Physiology and Biophysics and went on to earn his medical degree at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Diwan did his residency at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and has been with Piedmont Family Medicine since 2006. Dr. Diwan has advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound which enables more accurate and effective treatment of peripheral joint and musculoskeletal disease. He is an Advanced Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. Additionally, he is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine and has been treating the epidemic of opioid dependence and addiction for over 14 years. In addition to his training in Pain and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Diwan is Board Certified in Family Practice.
